You the one that kicked him off the team!!! If there are any hard feelings the kid probably hates your guts Miles!!!

Miles hates quarterbacks.

I would guess they weren't on the same page about his progress and role going forward, and agreed to part ways...this happens every day thousands of times in real life.

Why is it i always Miles fault. When not one of you have a clue what the problem was. I have to admire Miles by not tainiting this kides reputation by disclosing the reason for the departure. Given theQB situation it does not take a whole lot of smarts to know the reasion for legit otherwise he sould have hung in there with him

First off, he was not kicked off the team, his scholarship was not renewed-BIG difference. Another thing, why are people treating a situation where a 3rd string QB, who has not seen ANY meaningful playing time, gets his scholly pulled like it is the most bizarre conspiracy filled thing to ever happen to college football? The kid was a 3rd stringer & apparently couldn't beat out the 2 guys ahead of him, the possibility that Zach Lee will be here in the fall is probably why his services were no longer needed. I admire the kid & I think it is a pretty tough situation he is going through but this isn't the end of the world. And again, nobody, outside of the program, knows the REAL reason all of this transpired. Maybe the kid "gave up" & didn't like his position as the #3 guy & maybe he wasn't conforming to what was being asked of him as the #3 guy. Or maybe the coaches see a brighter future with another young QB & thought, as happens MANY times, that the scholly would be better used somewhere else. I know everybody loves the backup QB but this is a little bit over the edge. Remember he is the kid that could not do enough to impress the coaches & give him a shot over the other 2 guys & nobody seems real impressed with the other 2 guys so that tells me, the #3 guy probably wasn't "the answer" we are all looking for. Good luck Chris & lets just move on without building another conspiracy against Coach Miles, this kinda stuff happens EVERYWHERE.

DandyDon reported yesterday:

Sounds like Miles didn't want him anymore to me.

According to reports, Coach Miles confirmed yesterday that Garrett asked for his release after his family received a certified letter indicating that Garrett's scholarship would not be renewed.

How dare you interject reasoning and common sense into the discussion.

If Miles didn't renew his scholarship then he probably sucked anyway.
Miles grabbed his balls and cut his losses.
This is one decision I agree with!

I would be surprised if this is true. Would have bad impact on recruiting. Players are given 1 year scholarships which are typically renewed every year. Would be very rare to withdraw absent discipline reasons. Most schools have plenty of players who rarely play, but benefit from a full ride over 4 year. I would suspect Chris didn't like the depth chart situation and asked for a release.

Bryan Lazare said on the radio yesterday that Zach Lee was looking better than CG in 7-on-7 drills. He said if there was a QB depth chart for right now that CG would be 4th behind Z Lee.

Why would you be suprised if (the facts as they have been reported) are that he was not kicked off the team, his scholarship was not renewed? That IS in fact what happened.
Now this probably "played" into the university & Coach Miles' decision not to renew his scholarship. But again, unless you are an insider to the program, nobody really knows what happened & we'll have to take the facts as they are given to us. What it all boils down to is that a 3rd string player is no longer on the team, I can live with that.

As mentioned previously in the thread and as posted on DD's web site, the family received a certified letter from LSU stating the scholarship wouldn't be renewed. That's good enough for me.

Thanks. Very unusual to have sholly pulled. Must be more to it.
