Kirk Bohls is incorrect. Gov. Perry has gone on record, stating he'll not intervene.

Well that's a relief.... clearly his intentions would have been to improve his standings in the elections

He is a Univ. of Arizona grad who is a native Texan.

I think Bohls' point is that despite what Perry said, he's got no intention of letting his wishes go unheard behind closed doors, and that he's got lots of pull.
