It is arguable because though the basketball team has made runs they have never been consistent and with the one and done format in the tourney, it's hard for anyone to build a multi-title dynasty as opposed to the double elimination format in baseball where the best teams will always rise at the end.
LSU baseball has established themselves as a formidable power and will likely stay that way. The basketball team hasn't gotten to that point yet and probably never will.
LSU is more synonymous with baseball than it is with basketball.
Anyways, baseball and basketball success won't matter if there is no football program, LSU is a football program first.
