The quote I like is this one:

quote:

He said first-year passing game coordinator Billy Gonzales, who came over from Florida, has helped him to make quicker decisions. “He came in with a lot of pass packages and broke the passing game down a lot for me,” Jefferson said. “He’s made it a lot easier for me. It’s based on one read, and you don’t have to make too many reads. We have a good mixture of coach Gonzales and coach [Gary] Crowton, and I think our passing game will be way better than it was last year.”

Let's hope that Gonzales is a real difference maker for Jefferson and the offense!!! If he can find a way to help Jefferson, he makes a big difference at only one aspect of the offense. Sounds good, let's hope it plays out that way!

Well here we go again, having to further "Water Down" the offense for the JUNIOR starting QB. How can you have any kind of decent passing game based on just one read? Gonzales making things simpler tells us all that EITHER Crowton's offense was way too complicated for Jefferson (And JL as well) to understand or that they just don't have what it takes to grasp it.

Hey, here's a novel idea, why don't we recruit a QB (Like a Tommy Hodson) that can come in and grasp things quickly and run what the coaches want to run so we don't have to "Simplify and water down" everything in order to have success on the field.

Talk is cheap though. 2010 is "Put up or shut up" time for the offense. We've got two junior QB's, bigger/stronger/more experienced OL and talent out the arse at RB + WR. Just too much talent there to not rack up the yardage and touchdowns.......
