I remember going to a game in Chicago where it snowed and the on-field temp (with the wind chill) was 8 degrees. So they cancelled the game.
Of course, it was a baseball game: Opening Day weekend, 1988, Cubs v. Pirates. A couple players tried to build a snowman on the field before the game was called off.
Two things you need to watch sports in that kind of weather:
1. Warm clothes including long underwear
2. A big flask of whiskey or bourbon
