I would love to believe you are right. What we have and what we have coming is the next football season. Recruits, no matter how many stars they do or don't carry, are only as good as they will be coached to be. Time will tell. One thing for sure, LSU will not have the good old reliable "inexperienced QB" excuse model to fall back on in 2010.

its a solid class at best.

we came in with 3 real big needs. DT/RB/WR. RB is a satisfied need assuming both Gore and Blue get to school which isnt 100% at this point, but at WR and DT we are on our 4th and 5th options. good news is next year is loaded instate at those positions and that makes the 2010 football season the most significant since this run started.

This is an awesome quote - Miles is a doofus who won with Saban's recruits - but all recruits need to be coached to win - So which one is it?

Did the recruits win in 2007 - in which case Miles is doing fine by bringing in great classes.

Did the coaching win in 2007 - in which case , regardless of a couple of down years (relatively not absolutely), he is still our coach and can recruit as well.
