Meanwhile, Eagles wide receiver Eric Thomas Jr., who was scheduled to visit LSU this weekend, went back and forth before deciding to follow through with his visit.

Thomas said LSU is expected to offer him a scholarship either today or Sunday.
wouldn't Thomas be a sign and place? anyone know?

HUNTINGTON: LSU head coach Les Miles paid Raiders receiver Jarrett Fobbs an in-home visit Thursday.
"It showed me that they really want me," Fobbs said. "You can tell somebody how much you want them, but you've got to show it nowadays. He showed me how much he wants me and needed me."

Is this guy worthy of a scholarship or is it a desperate attempt to fill a need?

Thomas has a ton of work from what I gather...Petrino gave him a good look though

Very desperate attempt obviously. I really think it would be a waste of an offer

Don't worry, Les has a bunch of "wants" on the field.

Eric Thomas caught more TDs than Landry and more TDs than Wright.
Therefore, Thomas is a reasonable 'get'. He's 6 2 and 205.
Selection Evaluation and Training.
Those are the keys.
Miles is doing the evaluation and the selecting.
As for the training, Gonzo gets to.
I noticed that Miles took a 3 star from Alabama earlier in the this recruiting year, and suddenly Saban was upset, and the 3 star later was rated a 4 star.
Dont be too bound up by his 3 star rating.
only 1/4 of FIVE stars become stars, and another 1/4 of the five stars start.
The rest of the five star guys are busts.
Give the man (miles) a break. Its not a "reach" to recruit the kid who caught the most TDs in the state of Louisiana.
IN MY OPINION.
