i agree with everything you say except the part of JJ being close to Flynn, I dont see any way shape or form except for statistics, and IMO JJ's stats lie about his performance. On paper JJ looked like he did really well. He seems efficient and doesnt turn the ball over, but the guy doesnt take shots, he doesnt throw the ball away, he takes sacks, he would rather run than step up and find a receiver. These problems can be fixed. The main thing I saw in Flynn that I dont in JJ and its a huge factor when I look at flynn, is his ability to be a leader, and yes he was a 5th year senior but in the peach bowl as a RS soph, you could still noticeably see this.
