Here are my thoughts.
I think Miles has endured criticism in the past, just comes with the job. I don't know he has ever endured criticism like what he saw for this year. As he stated, you can't pay attention to fans but I think it had an impact on him.
Second, I think he has now had some time to reflect on the season and realizes there were mistakes made in several different areas. These could stem from clock mgt on his part, to the selection of RB's used in games, to competition in the spring instead of just handing someone a job because they have held that job in the past.
I will be the first to admit I have been tremendously disappointed this year in our coaching staff. I realize they don't actually play on the field but it was obvious that they were not prepared for certains situations.
I am hoping the two new additions to the coaching staff will have a positive impact on the upcoming situation. I don't hold out much hope and without significant changes in our approach, 2010 will be worse than 2009.

You have to believe—or hope—that it burns Miles to be thought of as an imbecile in his profession. I mean, the man must have his pride, and you'd think he'd bust his arse to restore his reputation among his peers after the past couple years. Among other things.
