Until here:
quote:The mounds of empirical evidence are the statical rankings of which LSU is at the bottom.
people who are presented with mounds of empirical evidence pointing to one unavoidable conclusion but insist on believing the opposite based on their hunches, superstitions, and feelings.
quote:Yeah, it's better to pay hundreds of dollars to go watch something, wait 6 months for it to happen, and NOT enjoy it. Yeah, that makes sense.
Apparently, whether or not the team is "enjoyable" to watch lately outweighs a coach's ability to pile up wins, recruits, and bowl wins like no other coach in the University's history.
quote:There's part of the genetic code he should leave out, and part he can leave in. The fact that you can't understand that nuance in the argument is telling.
If Joe Aleva could build himself a head football coach from scratch, it would be Les Miles.

If the ranking in team offense has become the sole measure of a college football program, then permit me to introduce you to the Idaho Vandals and the Nevada Wolfpack. They rack it up. I'm sure it's entertaining and enjoyable but I can't say I've ever dialed them up on a network on Saturday night or watched them with 90,000 other people.
By the time season is over LSU will have played a top 10-15 schedule, have a damn strong record, and a New Years bowl. How can you not enjoy that if you're an LSU fan?
