Crowton goes to Oregon in 2005 and has Kellen Clemens (now an NFL starter) as a senior QB. Has an amazing offense.

In 2006 (in his second year under Crowton), Dennis Dixon has the following stats:
197/322
2143 yards
61.2% completion
6.66 yards/attempt
12 TDs
14 INTs
120.7 Passer Rating

In 2007 (when Crowton left and under Chip Kelly):
172/254
2136 yards
67.7% completion
8.41 yards/attempt
20 TDs
4 INTs
161.2 Passer Rating

* Heisman Candidate before his injury

Now, LSU had Lee in his second year under Crowton:
2008:

143/269
1873 yards
53.2% completion
6.96 yards per attempt
13 TDs
16 INTs
115.7 Passer Rating

As I've said before, LSU's offense looked like Oregon's offense with a dropoff, lack of development, etc. under Crowton in his second year at both schools.

Even bigger was the jump getting a new OC/QB coach made for Dixon. Crowton is the problem with our QBs. I am sorry.

Tells me that with an experienced QB, offenses are better.

I do think that Crowton is subpar at developing QBs.

my point is that under crowton, QBS that are previously developed, i.e. Flynn, Clemens, etc, the TV will do extremely well.

When they have green, inexperienced QBs, they struggle. His QB development history is HORRIBLE, and that will kill LSU in the long run.

This is becoming painfully obvious to even the least informed among us (like me).

Some more stats from BYU:

2001 (Crowton's first/best year) he had Senior and experienced Brandon Doman at QB:
261/408
3542 Yards
64.0% completion
8.68 y/a
33 TDs
8 INTs
159.66 Passer Rating

2002 with two inexperienced QBS about the same (combined stats) JR and RS FR:
227/399
2643 yards
56.9% Completion
6.62 y/a
13 TDs
17 INTs
115.24 Passing Efficiency (average)

2003 RS So. Matt Berry and John Beck (a true Freshman) combined stats:
220/380
2309 yards
57.9%
6.08 y/a
12 TDs
19 INTs
108.5 Passer Efficiency (Average)

So as people can see, he's notorious for continued bad play whereever he goes. His last three stops and best years happened when he had a Senior starting for him at QB. When he's had to coach the QBs who are young, they've developed and performed horribly.

Sorry Crowton, but you officially suck arse as a QB coach.

I miss the days when the team had fire in their eyes, a silent swagger and a solid and CONSISTENT "process" in the team development.

I think that is the issue here. The QB has to be a leader, and while he may not set the world on fire, he can't be someone the team looks at and is afraid might lose you the game.

The team was obviously not happy on offense as noted with Scott's comments after the UF game, but this is Crowton's MO. Great years with seasoned QBs and accomplish almost nothing when you have green ones.

It all starts with the coaches, and watching the Sidelines during games is depressing. No emotion most of the games, and I just don't see Gary Crowton as a developer of leaders. I think that's what Fisher was very good at.
