He realizes that he has a long way to go. He has to improve his game a lot more. So what's wrong with saying that he wants the SR (and captain of the offense) to tote the rock with the game on the line. This has nothing to do with him not believing in his ability. JJ made plenty of big throws yesterday.

While I don't like him saying that he was scared to throw a pick, I do like the fact that he has enough belief in his teammates to call their number. The reason I think it was a good call is that we were already in FG range and a sack would have taken us out of it. Considering JJ had been sacked 6 times already and UGA was likely to be sending the dawgs after him, I thought it was a nice strategic move. I never thought we would score on the play but getting a 7-15 yard play was a distinct possibility. At that point we would have likely milked the clock down for a 41-yd FG at worst (had we only gained 7 yds). Obviously things worked out much better but running the ball there allowed us to take the catastrophic sack out of the equation.
