You are an old timer watching the LSU of the 70's and 80's like me. I can remember watching games on ABC on Saturdays in the mid to late 70's and wishing that LSU was considered one of the elite programs in the nation like Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Notre Dame etc. I guess the struggles that LSU had during those years never really leaves you. To this day I still have a hard time coming to grips with LSU being an elite program on the national stage and actually coming through and winning big games. The last 10 years have been great but I can't shake the feeling that it has just been an aberration. I have been scarred for life by what I experienced watching and listening to LSU games as a kid.

Yeah, the old LSU wins but can't beat Bama thing under Mac. I remember that frustration well.

I can't sleep either. Crying baby and nervousness about this game.

I went to my first LSU game in 1974 and that was the year I really started following LSU. It was 8 years later in 1982 that we first beat Bama in my young lifetime. That was a watershed moment for me. Until it happened I just accepted losing to Bama like the sun rising in the east.

LSU wasn't bad during the 70's. They had some pretty good teams.

That's probably around my first games as well genuine. Back then, Bert Jones was bigger than life, and the hope for beating those flippin Bammers.

It's a blur, which makes me think it must have been Trindon.

The more grandiose their illusions right now the harder they fall back to earth when reality hits. I think they have their Skylab moment somewhere in late October-early November.

Nov 7 my friend. You'll see tumbleweed on the SEC rant afterwards.

Nothing would be finer than for Bammers to come to grips with the fact that they are almost there and then the rug slips out from under their feet. I've never met a more entitlement ridden group in all my life. I think they believe they are heirs to the throne in the SEC every year.

I would actually take losses in a couple of other games just to see that happen.
