My son (now a teenager) was a very picky child. He never would have eaten chow mein at 3. But he probably would have eaten steamed rice--the blander the better as far as he was concerned. Probably would have been all over those crispy fried noodles too.
I am with those who that bringing in food is tacky. If your kid is that picky, carry Cheerios or crackers with you. Giving your kid crackers from home is not nearly as tacky as bringing in BK.
