I agree, if not splitting time with football he would have been all world.

I don't see the wankees trading for a minor league prospect. If he gets traded, it'll be to a crappy team for a veteran the Sox need for the pennant race.

I too was at the game. J Mitch was the best player on the field. He got hosed on a called 3rd strike.

He had the catch that was in question (was it in the 6th or 7th? Too many High Lifes for $2)

He actually had a really good catch early in the game as well.

Schulte where were you sitting? I was on the top deck on the left field line near the cheap seats.

He's here until Monday...I will be watching him the next few nights

Just didnt see first round until later in the year.

Don't forget, he was drafted 23rd overall right after and maybe even during the slump he was in where all of the idiots on here were saying that he should be benched. He was striking out a lot, and was looking pretty bad at the plate overall, and he was STILL taken 23rd. He was the best college position player drafted IMO. The White Sox knew what they were doing.

Where is he going after that? Is he expected to move up to AA? Or is his single-A team just on the road.

The Riverdogs are the Yankees A team. They're in Charleston right?

J-Mitch went 0-1 with 2 walks and a K for Kannapolis in a 5-0 loss to the Charleston Riverdogs today.

I caught the friday and saturday games at the joe this weekend. I agree completely that Mitchell was the best player on the field. He hit the ball very hard, even the outs. The catch he made saturday was ridiculous. Even the riverdog fans were booing when it was ruled a no-catch.

Final Jared Mitchell update:

Out of the starting lineup and made a guest appearance as the 1st base coach

The Intimidators coach got tossed in the 3rd so they sent Jared to coach 1st. He only let 1 runner get picked off!!

Do you live here in Charleston Smoltz? I try to catch as many Dog games as i can but i never miss one when a former Tiger is playing. Quinn Stewart is in the league also. I wanna say he plays for either Augusta or Savannah

I don't believe Stewart is in pro baseball anymore.

there are 20 or so of us in Charlotte that are trying to get block seating to let Jared know that there are some Tiger fans out there.

Looks like you are correct my friend. Just did a search on the minor league page and nothing came up under his name. He was in the Atlantic League bc i saw him play in Charleston a few times.
