2004, or 2005?
These were down years for the SEC (2005 was the worst SEC year in my lifetime) thanks in part to sanctions put on Alabama and Kentucky. The Big XII, however, was having its best two-year stretch ever.

When the combined scores of the conference title games for those two years is 112-6, it means you've got two of the best teams in the country and not much else.

2004

Besides OU and Texas, they had TT who was a pretender at that time when it came to big games...lost to OU and UT by a combined 45 pts. TT's only decent win came over a demoralized Cal team.

2005

UT was the only really good team in the conference. They beat the next best team TT by 35 points and slaughtered OU who wasn't that good that year, by 33. No one in the North division was worth anything.

And this has nothing with SEC homerism...I just think the Big XII was and is overrated as a whole. It's not to say there are no good teams in there.
