j, i would like to see snow. mount si, rainier, somewhere in olympic? i'm just trying to find something that won't take all day, won't require mountain climbing skills and won't be outrageously expensive. that sounds like a alot but with several tall mountain ranges within driving distance, i figure it won't be too hard

One place you might have a good chance of seeing snow is Artist's Point up on Mount Baker. I went up there in on an 85 degree day in the middle of July a couple years ago and went sledding. It's a two hour drive from Bellingham, which is about 1 1/2 hours north of Seattle. They just cleared the road a week ago or so, so the snow might still be there in early september, I'm not sure. Worst case you drive up there and get some amazing 360 degree views of the Cascades.

A really easy (saw a grandma holding an oxygen tank do it) but amazing hike is Sauk Mountain. I would guess it would be a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive from Seattle to the trailhead.

Couple of pics from when I went on the hike last year...
Also, I've seen a couple people recommend to drive Highway 20 to Winthrop and then loop around to Leavenworth on the way back to Seattle. I would also highly, highly recommend that drive.
