What's Blair Barbier up to these days?

I did not want to highjack the Buzzy thread. I heard he wants to be a coach and was wondering why he was not with LSU longer as an assistant. I used to sit near his family back in the day and they're a very close knit family

wasn't he doing some coaching somewhere?

This is what I have heard. He had a really good run in AAA ball and got called up a few times.
I really wish he was an everyday MLB starter. Then our entire infield would be in the bigs with Hawpe, Fontenot, Theriot and Barbier.

If you would have told me back in 2000 that of the four, Barbier would be the only one not starting in the bigs in 2009, I wouldn't have believed you.

I believe he's in business (Baton Rouge) with Doug Thompson and Kurt Ainsworth and I believe one other former LSU player. Maybe Patrick Coogan.

Couldn't agree more.
And btw, Coogan was a financial advisor a few years ago. I don't think Barbier is doing that with him but not completely sure.

Ouch... looks like they never really got off the ground.
Found this under Coogan's link.

Failing to file an Annual Report is no big deal. Sometimes they lapse because someone forgets, usually with smaller companies. All they have to do is file it and they get back in good standing.

TigerPhan, you are correct. And it pains me to eat crow!
He played several seasons in AA but didn't make triple A. For some reason I thought he got called up for a short stint by the Reds a while back. I can't find evidence to prove this though but my old memory seems to vividly remember watching him get a few ABs against the Cubbies.
ETA: Considering he never played for the Reds this is obviously a bad memory. It is going to annoy me who I am thinking about. It was an LSU player that got a few tries at 3B for the Reds.

Really? Fontenot was an absolute stud his freshman and sophomore years, Hawpe broke the NCAA record for doubles in a season, and Theriot i would say probably had an overall better career than Barbier and showed more MLB-caliber tools.
