I think this cat is referring to the post second-knee-injury-to-Deuce seasons. I don't think we need to take a RB with 14 cause last year we had the #1 offense in the NFL. I personally would like to see if Mike Bell can be the between the tackles running back we need. If we had any sort of D last year we could have been contending for the SB and you all know it. Having a bruiser RB would not have made as much of a difference last year as say a ball-hawking safety

What you fail to realize is that if the Saints can acquire a good between the tackles RB, that within itself can help out the defense b/c the can pound the ball, acquire first downs, and maintain ball control throughout the game. There were at least four games last season that was lost pretty much b/c the Saints offense couldn't convert a 3rd and 1.

Having the #1 offense doesn't translate to wins. You need a BALANCED offense.

And before you say Payton doesn't run the ball, look at Deuce in 2006, J. Jones in Dallas and Tiki Barber/R. Dayne in NY.

a RB being stopped in the backfield by a LB is not the RB's fault. The LB shouldnt have been there in the first place. The Oline needed to hold their own and usually failed to do so.
