Should be able to transfer more than once if head coach leaves and not have to sit out.

Youtube has an "Ask" button and you can ask AI to summarize

In this video, Coach Calipari discusses the negative implications of the transfer portal in college sports, particularly when athletes transfer multiple times (0:00).

He argues that frequent transfers hinder a student's ability to graduate, leaving them without a degree and no ties to a specific institution for future opportunities (0:06-0:26).

He also highlights the potential for athletes to become accustomed to large sums of money (NIL deals) and then struggle with the reality of lower-paying jobs after their playing careers (0:26-1:01).

Proposes a solution: allowing athletes to transfer once without penalty, but requiring them to sit out if they transfer again (1:09-1:26).

He believes that many transfers are financially motivated ("extortion") (1:26-1:40) and that limiting transfers would resolve 70% of the issues in college sports (1:50-1:58).

Everybody knows this is a problem but they lose a the court cases. Not sure how you fix that.

I agree but it's been a common talking point amongst fans. However, we're starting to hear more coaches and people directly connected to programs talking about it in the media now. Hopefully it gets loud enough that they actually do something about it.

The only time you should be able to transfer (without sitting out) is if you graduate or your coach leaves.

But I have no idea how you enforce that without making them employees.
