Did we dodge a decade long bullet?

It certainly seems like LSU was on the verge of mediocrity before CLK decided to come to LSU. Phenomenal 2019 due to hitting the lottery on players and coaches (Joe, Jordan, and Chase, Brady, Dave A.). But after that we had a run of nasty seasons and a bad hire with Kelli (no, I didn't spell it wrong).
Lane has brought excitement back to the program. It remains to be seen if he will turn things around, but no other hire I can think of short of Sabin would have re-energized this program. Even if he doesn’t bring championships - he had made us relevant again. National spotlight, high expectations for the future, attention of top recruits, etc. 1 month ago none of that would have seemed possible. I’m in!

Other than the anomaly of 2019 and west crown in 22…we have been in the wilderness for over a decade
