I had never heard of him until others brought up his name this season after Nuss shite the bed.
So I looked at his highlights, which can deceivingly make a player look like a Heisman candidate if you leave out the bad plays. But even with that, he looked ok, I guess. Numbers are good but I didn't think he was an OMG! talent/future-SEC-star with the highlight eye-test.
I think the real draw is his rags-to-riches/underdog story that has garnered all the goodwill, not so much his tools/projection.

Kid is a freshman and still finished with 300 yards and 2 TDs (yes also 3 picks) against a playoff team on the road.
You "experts" crack me up. Texas Tech lost a ton of games when Mahomes was the QB.
