Pressure washer help

My pressure washer busted my garden hose the other day after about 5 minutes of use. Changed hoses and water started shooting out of the threads not long after starting. When I took the hose off there was a huge amount of pressure on the garden hose at the machine, even though I depressured with the trigger. Any thoughts?

Sounds like there is some check valve thst is not working…your pressure washer is trying to flow the wrong way when you don’t have the trigger pulled.
