Bite any good early am? Looking to get the boat in the water with my boys this weekend. Worms, crickets and zebcos and quit by 10/11. Anywhere else I should go instead? Tchefuncte has sucked the last few times

Bream fishing will be good. Worms or crickets under a cork will keep the kids busy.

If the bite isn't good anywhere along the river, just keep going down and hit Bedico Creek. Less traffic, more shade, and plenty natural structure.

Fished from 6:30 to 10. Small sunfish. Kids got to see some gators and swim near the sand bars but no hot grease later. Sads

The freeze last year decimated the area. Fished earlier this year and only a handful of bluegill. Zero sacs. Maybe next year
