XBOX 360 RED RING OF DEATH!!!

After it happens and you send it in...does it cost anything and how long does it take before they send it back!? I NEED MY XBOX360 BACK! Haha!

Well i just got mine back today, i had problems getting no video and just sound. I sent it in on 1/2 and got it today 1/13 so it took 11 days. Mine was out of warranty so i had to pay 99 dollars to have it fixed. Once they do though they give you a free month of xbox live and your console comes with a 3 year warranty. If you're still under warranty you wont have to pay a thing. This is the second time i have had a 360 mess up. The first time i got the RROD too.

They send it off to Mesquite, TX so it shouldnt take long if you're in LA or TX.

the RROD fix is free even if out of warranty, sent mine in on 1/7 and xbox says it's still under repair

No first time my 360 messed up i had the three red rings, second time it messed up about exactly a year later i could get sound on the tv but no video.

i just got the rings the other day.
its faster filling out the form online LINK that way you just print out the UPS label and mail with your own box. Faster than MS sending you an empty box imo.

I have both the xbox and the ps3.
The ps3 has its share of problems also. It is not publicized because they have various problems and not a single common one like the xbox. The main ps3 problem is disk drive read errors. If you can't find your receipt you will be charged for a repair on the ps3. They don't use the manufacture date like xbox does. The ps3 has the worse warranty and support of the two.

dumb question but I just just got the RROD and am in the process of packing it up. Do i remove the face plate only if I have a custom one or remove it and keep in no matter what?
