maybe this kid is a generational talent once in a lifetime? But get over the sour grapes he’s not a guaranteed title by any means:

2020 #1 Bryce (back up when they won a natty - never won one as starter) #2 DJ U (multiple transfers - bust) #3 CJ Stroud (no nattys)

2021 #1 Ewers, #2 Caleb Williams, #3 Sam Huard (no nattys - all transferred before success)

2022 #1 Drew Allar (good qb or cupcake schedule?), #2Cade klubinekc and #3 Connor Wegmann, ( both have been benched mid game for poor performances and starting role highly questioned)

2023 #1 arch (back up to portal transfers), #2 Nico I (key starter), #3 Dante Moore (already transferred) #4 Jackson Arnold (has been benched for poor performance) and #5 Malachi Nelson (back up to portal transfer)

- to be determined whether to pay someone that much money who never played a down yet is worth it vs going for proven commodities in portal or developing your guy - I guess if you have endless cash it doesn't matter - for LSU thought it’s not so bad just hurts cause the month we’ve had - the ONLY true hit is do you lose recruiting momentum - got to keep the linemen and corners

TL:DR 12.5MM for 17 year oldis insane especially if you look at what’s happened to the last few top guys- 12.5MM better guarantee you a natty -statistically it doesn’t

Huard is actually hurt this year - so that is another factor to consider in this list - could be paying someone big buck and not even be physically able to play

Yes that’s also a good point - was never worth 5MM+
