Where do we hurt the most? And is it just me or do the DB's look like a strength all of a sudden?

My starters:

DT - D Nevis
DT - C Alexander
DE - R Alem
DE - S Corley/P Levingston
LB - R Baker/S Clemmons
LB - K Sheppard
LB - J Cutrera
CB - C Hawkins
CB - P Paterson
SS - C Jones
FS - D Mccray

We cannot have 2 safeties who have subpar coverage skills. One of these guys should be moved to OLB

Funny you say that because they cover much better than the guys we had starting at safety to begin the season.

Mccray played noticeably better at the FS position and CJ was so out of position the entire year, I blame the DCs. He was recruited as a Safety for a reason, let the man play Safety and not the freaking Nickel/Dime slots so much. With the way Chavis plays defense, one of these Safeties is going to have to step up.

McCray plays a damn strong FS. He is NOT a cover guy.

Jones, we must hope, can only improve. He has to be that guy to step up and be our SS. We will play lots of nick and dime, I would think, but he has to be the 5 star stud we thought he was. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but I like his chances to succeed. He's got 8 months to show us he can.

He'll play...but our new DC may like others over him.

* As for Coleman...I dunno. Move him to LB or play him some...but just because he lights people up, doesn't mean he's penciled in to start.

Come on, he was probably our best LB this year and he's not even starting?

That's your opinion. I certainly don't share that. We'll agree to disagree.

I agree it's not saying much either, but MccRay played a better FS than CT, IMO. I also think Jones needs good teaching, which he will get, and he easily beats out Coleman.

I agree with earlier comments: Chad Jones may be one of LSU's best cover guys. Granted, that isn't saying much this year.

Potential players that Chavis will have to decide on what to do with and who to start and in what packages:

Jones
Coleman
Hawkins
Peterson
Eugene
McCray
Hatcher
Brooks
P Jones
B Taylor
and all the freshmen that could come in and contribute

Obviously, it was a momentary lapse, as you can look in the same thread and throughout my posts and know that I know who PETERSON is. Christ.

Jesus, some of you dumbfricks really bring nothing to the table.

Cutrera may not start, but Theriot's chances are much slimmer.

And depending upon what Chavis wants to do with the LB's, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw three new starters.

Hope Chavis teaches him well...he has the chance to be a memorable defensive player at LSU.
