Are we going to see highs and low based on post season runs and the portal?

Obviously everyone want to be playing for a Natty. But I think Jay in the portal is a prime example. We needed a few extra pieces or better pieces from the portal and maybe we would have gotten them with more time but we were playing for the natty. Right now Jay has time and a jump on all the best programs that are still playing for nattys this year. Just going to be interesting to watch what happens over the next few years. Coaches will have to figure out how to do both or it’ll be on and off years. Hopefully we can still bring up program guys so not as much is needed from the portal but it exist and should be used to its full capability.
Just glad we have Jay. He is one of the best and I do believe he can do both.

I agree. Jay is one of the best. We're in great hands with him as our Head Coach.
I think - he hit bigtime on Jump and Holman.
Fidel and Braswell were both pretty good for us.
But Bingham and Loer didn't pan out to be what Jay was hoping for.
I think he realizes that with the Portal you can basically build almost a whole new team from year to year.
You can bring in 6-10 transers with experience every year and almost reload.
The problem with that is - you still need "LSU guys" or a core of Louisiana boys on the roster each year. IT just means a little more to them.

But to answer your question - I think Jay learned a lot this past year.
I wouldn't say - we weren't as low as it looks. We finished pretty strong.
10-3 over our last 13.
Our losses -
#1 Tennessee by 1 run
#4 UNC
#4 UNC by 1 run in extras
I don't think we had enough firepower in our lineup.

Hopefully we can land fire power going forward. Also just need those guys to hit the portal for my to work magic.
