Almost like tipping has jumped the shark.

When I get exceptional service, in the infrequent times we eat out, I give a generous tip. it's always 20%, including tax, but if the server is great, I will leave $100. We can't take it with us.

As a former server, there should be some hustle, an attempt to be gracious, kind and willing to do your job. I worked at The Chimes, off campus and it was turn and burn. No matter the table, I tried to make the experience pleasant. Not all people can be made happy, but I did my best.

Had lunch at a chilis today. Suggested tip amount was based to the total plus tax. Sorry i dont tip on tax.
