Languages change over time.

If the choice is between using xe/xem or ze/zim, or simply going with constructions for which there is already a precedent, such as "you/you" for second person pronouns, I'd rather go with simply recognizing third person pronouns just like we already do with second person pronouns rather than introducing made up words such as xe/xem or ze/zim.

But then I don't get so angry over it. I'm not sure why you're so invested, except for perhaps the possibility that it all strikes a bit too close to home for you, personally.
