You are silly if you think we'd allow Russia to topple the Mexican gov't, and make it a proxy nation. Then set up military operations, bio labs and intel bases on our southern border.
The US started this crap. The US has turned into what Russia was during the cold war. The US is spreading its influence through NATO where it pulls the strings of every nation in it to do its bidding. They are directly using NATO against Russia. Our gov't is going to get us into WW3. We have no business trying to control countries in Russi's sphere of influence. US marxism is spreading like a plague through the world via NATO.

That I will agree with, we did a land grab for our NATO empire at the end of the Cold War that embarrassed Russia, and their national shame is the power Putin wields.
Frankly he could have continued a slow burn the rest of his life chipping away at allies and eroding the power of our empire on the margins. But he didn't, he invaded Ukraine and gave us a once in a century opportunity to pivot to China.
The sad truth is the US of the 1990s could have taken on China and Russia, but we aren't that nation anymore. Our internal decay has eaten away at our capabilities. Without Elon we couldn't even send rockets into space like the Russians can for crying out loud.
That is why I am glad we are taking advantage of the opportunity Putin has presented us while we still have enough momentum from what the Greatest Generation gave us to setup the world for another 50 years of US dominance.
