He was on my brain because I did a Rambo First Blood part 2 the other day and he was excellent as CIA man Murdoch. Lee Marvin turned down that role.

I think Lee Marvin would have been terrible for that part.
When Rambo said "Murdoch... I'm coming to get you!", Marvin would have told him to bring it....

and we are all for the better that Marvin did IMHO. Napier was the perfect casting for that
