Conroe might actually be far enough away from Houston that it escapes. The telltale sign is apartments. The unrelenting apartment construction is what will kill Katy. Government subsidies are the cancer that spreads urban rot.

Every time I see a new apartment complex going up I think about what it will look like in 15 years. I'm sure that's not the case all over the country, but they pretty much all turn trashy here over a long enough time.
