Apparently he dindu nothing:
Dear @WAFB and Board Members,
I must address the misleading narratives being circulated about Boil & Roux. Contrary to reports suggesting non-compliance, we have diligently and lawfully applied for all necessary permits related to renovations, modifications, and special events. It’s disheartening to see our efforts misrepresented, casting shadows over our commitment to operate within the bounds of the law.
The narrative that we disregard rules is not only false but overlooks the undue scrutiny and challenges we’ve faced, notably from the councilwoman Denise Amarosa and the ABC Board. We urge for a balanced portrayal that acknowledges our attempts to navigate these complexities in good faith.
Should there be interest in a more nuanced story, one that delves into the evidence we hold and the obstacles we’ve encountered, I am more than willing to provide insights. Let’s prioritize facts over sensationalism.
“I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our community for the overwhelming support, calls, and concerns during this challenging time. Your solidarity means the world to us, and we encourage you to continue supporting Boil & Roux as we navigate this ongoing struggle.
We also call upon all community leaders to stand with us in this fight for justice and fairness. Leadership is defined by action in times of adversity. Those who choose to stand on the sidelines should not claim the title of community leader.
Together, we are stronger. Double up and fall in! IYKYK!
Sincerely,
Maurice Walker
Owner, Boil & Roux”

I missed this part of a WAFB article:
quote:
The sixth-month suspension can only begin if Boil and Roux had a liquor license in the first place, which it currently does not. Officials from the city-parish said Boil and Roux’s local liquor license expired in January and Walker has been unable to renew it because of other issues with the State Fire Marshal.
Adding to that, WAFB has confirmed with the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control that Boil and Roux does not have a state license to sell alcohol either. Officials confirmed that their state license also expired and has not yet been renewed.
