I went last October and didn’t get that vibe. The public areas and hotel room seemed modern and updated. The pool area was built many years ago with the hotel I assume. Items like that are more difficult to update but I didn’t find anything wrong with it. Like I mentioned my biggest pro with The Diplomat in the Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area is the hotel property is actually on the beach and not across the street. True beachfront hotels are not as common as you’d think.
