great film, but this was my biggest issue with the revised plot. Paul plays 3D chess with the emperor, so he didn't have to send the Fremen off to battle the Landsraad at all bc He had the Spacing Guild by the balls already by controlling the spice trade.
The whole reason Shaddam wanted Atredies taken out in the first place, was because he was gaining favor amount the other houses, I think. this was stated in the first movie.
