Of course not. She had fricking cancer. Hospitals gave her the Opioids and then medical insurance takes them away. So you turn to the streets.

And to make matters worse...she had a high tolerance for pain medication from Heroin abuse.

So when she was burned alive, the regular pain medication had little impact. They would've had to overdose her (which would been the humane thing to do) but they wanted to get him for murder.
