Some of that was due to the used car market going bonkers due to inventory issues and cheap money allowing them to grow unchecked, now it is starting to flip and they have overpriced cars on their lot they cannot sell without eating a loss. Also financially it makes no sense for a consumer to buy a 2 year old used car at 18% interest when you can go to a dealer for a new vehicle that maybe a little more but you can finance in the single digits.
