Why? He's not a bad defensive first baseman. Would he have made the play at home agaisnt Wake Forest, no. But you can't try to compare him to Tre Morgan defensively, that would be like saying, "well Luke Holman doesn't dominate the way Paul Skenes used to." Compare Jared Jones' fielding to other first basemen around the SEC and he fits in just fine.
