People typically do not go anywhere to eat lunch while WFH. I eat at my desk daily. When in the office, people often go in groups and grab lunch which will take up at least an hour of the day.
Yes, if I need to get my daughter to practice at 5:30. I can WFH, and work a full day to get her there on time. If I'm at the office, I would be leaving at 4 to get her there on time. Commutes, traffic, etc.
I agree that WFH changed how we work, if you have the right employees it is for the better. Companies got used to high productivity and higher availability, then wanted butts in the seats and the same productivity and availability. Doesn't work that way.
