Hopefully, you've always had a healthy relationship in the past. I learned, a little late, to encourage my kids when they were really young to talk as much as they wanted. And this is a lesson for young parents. Especially when they are very young, let them jabber, other than interrupting others, let them talk. I don't know how many times my wife and I fell asleep with our youngest daughter talking to us while she was jabbering at the foot of the bed. I'd wake up later and carry her to her bed. Boys are different though. Hopefully, he has close friends that you know well. Have his closest friend over for lunch and whatever. Listen for clues. If something is bothering your boy that much, its bothering his best friend also...something will be said sooner or later that will give you a clue. Its probably something that embarrassed him immensely. Or it could be nothing.
