I agree. I always shake my head when I pass the public school car line on the way to pick my kid up from private school. The parents have $60K-$80K SUVs picking their kids up from public school. One time I even saw a dad with a brand new F250 pulling a $100K bay boat.

All I think is how selfish they could be to value depreciating items like a vehicle or boats over their kids education.

In Louisiana you can send your kid to a private school for around $500 a month and they even do payment plans. So instead of paying $1200 for that Tahoe get something for $600-$700 and get your kid a decent education. Who knows it may pay off in the long run in the form of a scholarship which will save you money.
