HR called me ...."President and VP have called because he copied them too. Their message to me. "Your staff, your decision." I had his email in hand ......last paragraph dictated the result. He finished by saying "If you don't meet my demand. I'll retire." Looked up at HR and said ...."Best damned retirement letter I ever read."

Called a meeting with the staff. Ten minutes later, HR in the room. He was standing there. "I want to announce that Mike has decided to retire. In 30 days"
