If the glory days of LSU football are officially over, why is Saban spending so much time and effort trying to recruit 2 or 3 players top players from the state of Louisiana? I do not see him doing this in the state of Mississippi or Arkansas for example. Please contemplate your response very carefully before posting.

Now that Bama is back, why waste time in the state of Louisiana when Bama can obviously recruit globally, internationally, and intergalactically?

Because per capita Louisiana produces LEGIT NFL talent...........we know this, LSU knows this, Saban knows this, and Bama is scared of this.

The irony being, one nice season constitutes as being back in bamaland but one down season in baton rouge means the demise of LSU....these folks are simply off the chart

Bama better enjoy this year. In two years the SEC West will look like the SEC East. Arkansas should be rolling on offense, Ole Miss will have Houston Nutt and the Wild Reb, LSU should be back in the mix if we get a DC this year, and Moo States new coach will be in his second season as well as Auburn who will always be a thorn in ours and Bamas side. The SEC west SUCKED this year and the SEC as a whole only had a few good teams. The B12 South had more good teams than the entire SEC this year. Give it two more years and there will be chaos in the land of the SEC. Also, I don't know if ya'll noticed that Spurrier is silently putting together a good team. In two years there won't be any more Tebow. Looks like Vandy is retaining their coach, Richt won't win the whole thing but will always have a good team, Kentucky has been playing good ball the past couple years (for Kentucky), and Kiffin will have UT in the mix sooner or later. The SEC may look drastically different when all this shite hits the fan.

Saban goes where ever the players he wants are. We have targets in several states. Randle and Mingo are the reason Saban arrived in LA last night.

Because the glory days of LSU has absolutely nothing to do with the talent that comes out of Louisiana high school football. You, sir, are fricking moron.

The reality is that LSU and every other SEC school that plays in the SEC recruits very well for the most part. The SEC continues to recruit very highly rated classes each year and the middle rated schools are recruiting their share of talent. Saban will spend his time in LA because of the talent but also because of the respect he has at the High School level, which will give him in road that other coaches don't have. The High School coaches know the foundation he formed for LSU, and he continues to have a great relationship with the High School coaches in LA. He will continue year after year to get 1,2,3 players a year. He put the fence up around the state and he know exactly where the holes are. Don't fret Tiger fans its not Saban who's your problem it Myles.

Saban has connections in LA. He knows a lot of the high school coaches in LA obviously because of his time at LSU. By the way, LA is #1 in the nation per capita in producing NFL players.

No it isn't. Mississippi overtook Louisiana for the top spot last year. However, there is no shame in being #2 in that statistic.

Since we are pulling stats, remember LSU didn't beat Bama in Death Valley for 30 years at one time. Let's get real for a moment, Saban is not heavily recruiting just in LA. Look at our verbal commits. Saban has the state on LOCK down. He is putting fear in Mark Richt. We have several big time verbals out of Georgia. We are looking for another big one by signing day. Saban is trying to own every state in the South East.

Although you may have a point. When you sign 48 per year, it's bound to take a toll. I'm just wondering how bama is gonna fit three digit numbers on their jerseys.

It will not take a toll on Bama fans. Saban will keep the best and send the rest to North Alabama, Troy, UAB, and the Barn.

I agree...I also agree w/: why ask Bammers questions here when we really would like them to disappear off this board.

He is. Kevin Norwood, Chad Bumphis, Fletcher Cox, Patrick Patterson and Rod Woodson is already committed. He also got 3 of the top 5 from Tennessee last year and the #2 player from FL this year. Again, he doesn't target LA just b/c he was the coach at LSU. He recruits the best players in the South, just like any smart SEC coach would do.
