At the time this started my options were Cox, ATT, and satellite tv. All 3 had contracts.
Thats when streaming services came in with $40/month prices etc and when all this started.
Now I pay $65/month for YTTV and $50/month T Mobile internet. Idk the simplicity to me is worth it alone.

Gotcha. My pet peeve, is my friends tell me not to text too fast about watching football when a play happens on bunny ears, because they are not actually watching it live. It's a 20-30 second delay on a lot of those streaming companies. It's hard to contain a celebration text!
