It’s just way too long of a commitment for those with busy lives and family responsibilities.
For those who don’t have a private club membership it’s easily a 5 and a half hour to 6 hour round and not to mention the commute to and from.
Basically it’s pretty much an entire day and it gets to be way too long and expensive.

Yep, all of that. Even if I was still at a club, stepping out for 3-4 hours several times a week with 2 kids under the age of 3 would not be an ideal situation in my marriage 
I also don’t have a job where I would realistically have that much daylight time in a week for a hobby
