Americans think that because Hispanics are Catholic and religious, they're conservative. What we don't understand is that Marxist liberation theology permeated the Catholic Church in Latin America from the 1960's onwards. There's a reason every Spanish-speaking country in Central America (save for El Salvador) is ruled by leftists.

It's because the very few who ran the country for most of it's existence employed a subjugation/extraction philosophy that left most of the populace destitute. Marxism, for the most part gains footholds in countries with extreme wealth inequalities.
