You know how I know you know absolutely nothing about criminal justice? It’s when you make stupid statements like defund the police.
The problem with CJ isn’t really the police. It’s everything else in the system that can’t manage the numbers of criminal that go through the system. It’s jails, Courts, community corrections, treatment programs and prisons. Police technically arrest more than the system can effectively handle.
It’s also over criminalization of behavior. Too many behaviors are felonies. We need to reform our laws and downgrade behaviors to make less of them felonious behavior which attaches a permanent stigma to the defendant.
Yes, I have an LSU Criminal Justice degree and 33 years in the field.
