The NOLA Catholic school system has been dealing with dwindling enrollment for a while now. A few schools have already closed in recent years due to low enrollment numbers and many more are struggling to boost their numbers. If they try to jack up tuition to pay for decades old priest abuse claims, you’re just going to see more kids getting pulled from Catholic schools and put into a magnet school or moving somewhere with better public schools.

I guess then the archdiocese can sell the real estate for the schools that close

Already started. Closed St Rita school (on Fontainebleau Dr), moved the archdiocese employees from Howard Ave building to Fountainbleau, and sold the Howard Ave building to a AirBnB developer.
