Idk.
Owned them for a while.. different models…presently own two.. one has 90k… a q5… only repairs are normal maintenance.. oil fluids..tires…it is my primary driver.. lots of interstate driving..
Other one is the 7… 95k… standard maintenance.. this is the first real problem. My wife uses for running local errands mostly.
I will say the general maintenance is pricey compared to the same services for something like a ford or Honda ..
Switching to a more maintenance cost friendly car for high mileage commuting vehicle next time..
Update: mechanic has repaired oil leak.. car ready.. never sent a quote before doing work which he has always done.. so we will see what happens when I go pick it up and if he ask for money..
Based on comments from op..my goggle of videos about replacing oil coolers and video of the active leak I feel he buggered the gasket and it did not leak until car built up a little oil pressure.. then once it found a crack the fluid squirted through and made it worse ..
Not going to argue just make a point.. regardless will find a new mechanic.. this guy does pricey cars .. mine is usually the poor boy car I his shop
The tow truck company owner hung up on me.. filed a damage claim with AAA
